Surrounded by innumerous versions of the world’s most famous nonsense-story, Alice and her Wonderland have embedded themselves into our collective memory. This book seeks to keep the original tale alive by going back to the roots of the first manuscript, handwritten and illustrated by Lewis Carroll in 1864.
It allows readers to follow Alice’s adventures on screen and time-travel with her through the many visual iterations of Wonderland, documenting a cross-section of the imagery we associate with this much-loved tale, from the first silent film in 1903 until the frenetic 3D movies of today.
